How Chelsea Lighting’s Commitment to People Development Benefits Employees – and Clients.

Developing expertise doesn’t stop after onboarding.

A Commitment to Continuous Growth

At Chelsea Lighting, employee development is an ongoing investment designed to help people build new skills, expand their knowledge, and grow throughout their careers. While LAMP CAMP provides a strong foundation for employees during their first year, it’s only the beginning of a broader commitment to learning that benefits both our employees and the clients we serve.

Chelsea Development Program (CDP)

Chelsea recognizes that careers don’t follow a single path. As employees gain experience, many have opportunities to broaden their understanding of the business through Chelsea’s rotational development program. Participants gain hands-on experience across departments including Project Management, Estimating, Purchasing, Controls, Sales, and Operations.

Rather than simply learning about different functions, participants work alongside experienced team members, gaining practical insight into how each department contributes to successful projects. The program helps employees discover where their strengths and interests align while preparing them for future opportunities within the organization.

Internships at Chelsea

Chelsea’s commitment to developing talent begins even earlier through its participation in Ladders for Leaders, a New York City internship initiative that introduces college students to professional work environments. This summer, Chelsea welcomed four interns who will gain hands-on experience supporting teams across the organization while learning about the lighting industry and the many career paths it offers.

Mentorship, Collaboration, and Team Building

Learning at Chelsea extends beyond formal training programs.

The company continues to foster collaboration through mentorship, cross-functional learning, employee resource groups, and company events that encourage employees to build relationships across departments. Whether participating in team-building activities, networking opportunities, or new employee resource groups focused on shared interests and wellness, employees have opportunities to learn from one another in ways that strengthen both our organization and our culture.

This commitment to continuous learning creates benefits that extend well beyond Chelsea’s walls.

Employees who understand the business from multiple perspectives communicate more effectively, collaborate more seamlessly, and solve problems with greater confidence. That depth of knowledge allows Chelsea to put well-prepared professionals in front of clients – people who understand not only their own role, but how every discipline contributes to the success of a project.

Ultimately, Chelsea’s investment in people translates directly into better outcomes for clients.

By developing expertise at every stage of an employee’s career – from internships and foundational training through advanced development opportunities and ongoing mentorship – Chelsea continues to build the knowledgeable, collaborative teams that clients rely on to help deliver successful projects.

Because when people continue to grow, so does the value they bring to every project they touch.
