Michael Toolis

Michael Toolis serves as Chief Executive Officer of Chelsea Lighting, overseeing its overall growth, profitability, and operations.

Michael brings deep experience as an architect, entrepreneur and business and civic leader. He led the growth of VOA Associates, an international architecture and design practice headquartered in Chicago, Illinois that designed notable buildings in a wide range of industries. VOA’s representative clients include Google, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, the Walt Disney Organization, the Chicago Cubs, and Virgin Hotels, in addition to major hotel brands, banks, and corporate entities.

As Former Chairman and CEO of VOA, Michael led the firm in its development of innovative strategies that enabled its continued growth throughout his 40-year tenure, including strategic and talent acquisitions, geographic expansion, and the creation of foreign entities. Under his leadership, VOA gained recognition as one of the leading design firms in the country. In 2016, Michael negotiated the sale of VOA to Stantec, a NYSE publicly traded company, and continued with the firm for several years to integrate and transition the company.

In addition to his role at Chelsea, Michael currently serves as an Operating Partner of Kinzie Capital Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm. He also serves on the Board of Directors and the Strategic Planning Committee of Navy Pier, the number one tourist destination in Illinois, as well as the Advisory Board of the Graaskamp School of Real Estate at the University of Wisconsin. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and YPO Gold.

Michael lives in Chicago with his wife, Theresa, and is an avid golfer with a passion for travel.

Chief Operating Officer

Robert Bazan

Bob Bazan joined Chelsea Lighting in 2016 and serves as Chief Operating Officer, where he oversees service delivery and drives significant improvement in processes, technology, policies, and people development throughout Chelsea's operational teams and services. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Operations at the firm.

Bob has worked in lighting manufacturing since 2007, including at Cooper Lighting, WAC Lighting, and Apogee Translite, with responsibilities of engineering, product development, sales, and marketing. Prior to that, he worked in printed circuit board manufacturing at Photocircuits Corporation, serving as Vice President of Customer Support and on the restructuring committee for the company’s Chapter 11 reorganization operations.

Bob is a retired Navy Captain with 30 years of military service and has made many deployments throughout the world, including combat operations in Afghanistan, the Korean Theater of Operations, and Emergency Management Operations with FEMA and New York State. Bob holds a BS in Engineering from the US Naval Academy, an MBA from the University of Rhode Island, and Joint Professional Military Certification from the Air Command and Staff College. He actively serves as Commander of American Legion Post 336, Charter Organization Sponsor for Boy Scout Troop 195, and as a US Naval Academy Blue and Gold Officer. Bob is an avid runner and completed the New York City marathon in 2013. He is married to his wife, Theresa, and they have three children

Chief Financial Officer

Tim Tobey

Tim Tobey joined Chelsea Lighting in 2023 and is the Chief Financial Officer.

Tim brings over 20 years of financial expertise to Chelsea Lighting. His experience includes years of global financial management. Tim’s finance career began as a Finance Administrator at Astro Aerospace where he helped build the International Space Station. He has also built and sold a start-up, guided an organization into a world leading provider of maritime communications and advocated for women owned businesses in Uzbekistan.

Versatile and open minded, Tim volunteered to be a business advisor in Russia and served two years in the Peace Corps.

Tim received a BS degree in Finance from Oklahoma State University. He is fluent in Russian. Tim is a devoted father to three children and especially likes to take the road less traveled.

Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Glenn Buchholz

Glenn Buchholz joined Chelsea Lighting in 2015 as Senior Vice President of Chelsea Controls & Technology, leading Chelsea’s team that implements lighting control and other technology-based systems. He has since assumed a broader role having responsibility for sales and marketing in all Chelsea offices.

Glenn spent 17 years working at Lutron Electronics, one of the premier manufacturers in the lighting control industry. He held roles in sales and sales management in the Southeastern, Southwestern, and Northeastern United States, most recently as Northeast Area Sales Director. While at Lutron, Glenn became an AIA accredited CEU presenter and regularly spoke at IES, AIA, and ASID meetings. He then broadened his industry experience working at a manufacturer’s representative agency, where he gained a new perspective on the lighting industry, representing leading lighting, lighting control, and automated window shade manufacturers. In addition to managing sales for his division of the agency, he also led the estimating, project management, and customer service teams.

Glenn graduated from Lafayette College with a joint degree in Mathematics and Economics. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, golfing, and quality time with his wife and two daughters.

Vice President, Pre-Construction

Randall Angel

Randall Angel joined Chelsea Lighting in 2013 and is Vice President of Pre-Construction. He is responsible for maintaining relationships with Chelsea’s vast network of lighting representatives and lighting manufacturers, making strategic purchasing decisions and creating mutually beneficial vendor programs. Randall is also responsible for overseeing the Estimating team, including development and management of the department, ensuring the correct project scope is captured, and bringing projects in budget and on schedule. Randall works hand in hand with our sales team to assist the overall sales strategy for the company and driving profitability.

Having held positions in Project Management, Estimating, and Sales, Randall carries a rich understanding of Chelsea as a whole and has been an integral part of some notable Chelsea projects, including the 96th Street Subway Station, 3 World Trade, the Marriott Marquis Times Square, and the Marriott Edition Madison Square Park. Randall has enjoyed significant accomplishments with general contractors, owner’s representatives, and owners.

Randall received a BS in Business Administration from Bryant University and was a member of Bryant’s varsity football team. Residing in New York City, he enjoys the outdoors and is an avid golfer, hiker, and skier.

Vice President, NYC Sales

Eric Sackman

Eric Sackman joined Chelsea Lighting in 2014 and is Vice President of NYC Sales. Eric has held leadership positions in Project Management, Estimating, and Operations Management at Chelsea. He was instrumental in the successful implementation of several operational improvements and business efficiencies and has taken an active role in the development of people at Chelsea.

Eric provides a unique perspective to the pre-construction side of the business after living an operations role for the majority of his tenure at Chelsea. Eric has overseen some of Chelsea’s most high-profile jobs and has developed a solid business reputation with some of New York City’s largest general contractors, owners, and owner representative groups. He is a hands-on leader and can frequently be found at client job sites or participating in client meetings.

Eric received both his BS in International Business and MBA degrees from Quinnipiac University. He currently resides in Manhattan and in his spare time enjoys cooking, skiing, playing golf, and spending time with his niece and three nephews on the Jersey Shore

Vice President, Human Resources

Bill Entenmann

Bill Entenmann joined Chelsea Lighting in 2015 and is the Vice President of Human Resources.

Bill has over 35 years of experience as a Human Resources and Operations professional, spending the majority of his pre-Chelsea career with United Parcel Service and Cablevision Systems Corporation. Bill has held leadership positions in Talent Acquisition, Management and Development, Health and Safety, Employee Relations, and Labor Relations. He developed a broad business acumen over his career through additional leadership roles in Operations Management, Marketing, and Industrial Engineering. Bill was an adjunct faculty member at the New York Institute of Technology, where he taught Human Resources professional certification courses.

Bill holds a Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management. He received his BS in Finance from Fordham University, MS with distinction in Human Resource Management and Labor Relations from the New York Institute of Technology, and MBA with honors in Total Quality Management from Dowling College. Bill, his wife, and son reside in Point Lookout, NY. He is an avid cook and a Notre Dame and lacrosse fan.

Suzanne Yoon

Suzanne Yoon serves on the Board of Chelsea Lighting and is Founder and Managing Partner of Kinzie Capital Partners.

Kinzie Capital is a Chicago-based private equity firm that invests in lower middle market companies in the consumer, manufacturing and service industries. In 2017, she launched Kinzie as part of her long-standing vision to advance the use of technology, data analytics and innovation to help investors unlock value for companies. Her creative outlook on the use of technology in the Private Equity sector leads to improved operational efficiency and new avenues for growth within Kinzie’s diverse portfolio of companies and investors. Three years after its founding, Kinzie was recognized by the Private Equity Women Investor Network (PEWIN) as Female Founded Firm of the Year 2020.

Angela Steele

Angela Steele serves on the Board of Chelsea Lighting and is an Operating Partner of Kinzie Capital Partners.

As CEO, V-One at Publicis Global, Angela currently oversees a several hundred-person team of experts across creative, media, customer experience, CRM, and data and analytics. With more than 20 years of experience in transforming companies, Angela’s expertise includes business strategy, building diverse leadership teams, and developing new products to capitalize on marketplace trends. Angela has guided strategies to drive growth leveraging B2B and B2C marketing, product innovation, corporate culture, and broad vertical expertise working with organizations ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 companies. Her experience spans consumer packaged goods, technology, QSR, auto, and retail, including direct to consumer and ecommerce.

Peter Schwab

Peter Schwab serves on the Board of Chelsea Lighting and is a Managing Director of Kinzie Capital Partners.

Peter Schwab is a Managing Director and Member of the Investment Committee at Kinzie Capital Partners, where he assists in the development of Kinzie’s team and the sourcing and execution of investments. In addition, Peter advises on investment evaluation, assisting with transaction execution, providing value-added oversight to portfolio companies, and helping the team with strategy execution.

With over 40 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and advisory services, Peter has served as a longtime counselor to Kinzie and an Advisory Board Member. Previously, he was Managing Director and a Group Head at Piper Jaffray, Senior Managing Director at Macquarie Capital in Restructuring, President of Ernst & Young Corporate Finance, LLC (Investment Bank), and Head of Consumer/Retail for Capital Advisory, also at Ernst & Young.

Michael Sullivan

Michael Sullivan serves on the Board of Chelsea Lighting and is a Principal at Kinzie Capital Partners.

As Principal at Kinzie, Michael is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing investments. In addition to his investment and portfolio management responsibilities, he leads Kinzie’s internship programs and supports team development.

Michael has over 15 years of experience in investment management, corporate finance, treasury and management consulting. Prior to joining Kinzie, Michael led his own consulting practice focused on operational process improvements and served as an Assistant Vice President of Investments & Treasury at CNA Insurance. He also held positions at Northern Trust, JP Morgan Chase & Co and Accenture.
